Topaz Video AI is a desktop application (Windows/Mac) that applies AI models to common video-quality problems: upscaling low-resolution footage to 4K and beyond, interpolating frame rates for smoother slow-motion, and reducing noise, shake, or compression artifacts. It's widely used by professional video editors restoring old or low-quality footage, and increasingly by creators who want to upscale and clean up output from AI video generators like Runway or Kling before final delivery. Topaz moved to subscription-only pricing in late 2025 and no longer sells new perpetual licenses: Topaz Video starts at about $299 per year (billed annually) or roughly $59 per month on a month-to-month plan, with a Pro tier at $699 per year for commercial studios and an all-apps Topaz Studio bundle at $69 per month. Owners of an older one-time license keep what they bought, but current versions and cloud credits require a subscription. Local processing is GPU-intensive, so render times depend heavily on your hardware; Topaz now also offers cloud rendering through monthly cloud credits (25 per month on the Personal Video plan and 100 on Pro; monthly credits expire at the end of each month and do not roll over) and a separate browser-based Topaz for Web, which helps if you lack a capable local machine.
