Consensus

Consensus is a search engine built specifically over peer-reviewed scientific literature: ask a question (e.g., "does X improve Y?") and it returns relevant papers with AI-generated summaries of their findings, plus a distinctive "Consensus Meter" that visualizes how much agreement exists across the returned studies — whether the evidence leans toward yes, no, or is mixed. Every summary links to its source paper, making it straightforward to dig into the underlying research. The free tier covers a number of searches and AI summaries per month suitable for casual use; paid plans starting around $9.99/mo raise those limits for students, researchers, and professionals doing more frequent literature searches. Coverage is limited to indexed academic literature, so it won't help with general topics, and the consensus meter is a useful starting signal but can oversimplify genuinely contested or nuanced research questions.
